Need help with driver fro ABU to Dubai
 

Long story short-landing at 12:30 in ABU (Ethiad 1st class, used miles before devaluation last year) and have a 20 hour layover. Wife and I are hoping to get a driver from Airport and take us to Dubai and see some of the sights that afternoon/evening. Have never been to this area of the world and would like someone knowledgable. Plan on taking Ethiad coach back the next morning.

PS. If I am reading correctly, you are planning to get an Etihad bus from Dubai in time for a flight which departs at 8:30am - that's gonna be a horrible 5am (at the latest) wake up. I would suggest you keep the driver for a few extra hours and ask him to bring you back to Abu Dhabi and take a room at the Premier Inn (cheaper and attached to airport) or the Westin (far nicer but involves a short cab ride), which are both going to allow for a much more civilised morning, and for probably not much extra cost compared to staying on and spending the night in Dubai.

Another thought..There is a bunch to do in Abu Dhabi .. definitely go to the mosque, it is really an amazing place and you could spend several hours there, its ooen until 10 at night go downtown, the corniche is beautiful, have a meal in one of the Emirates palace hotel 13 restaurants, as well as fruit and plant markets, and historical villages as well. You won't be using 3+ hours of your layover driving back and forth. Dubai is much more spread out than Abu Dhabi.. what would you like to see., the malls, hotels.?
