Israel Before UAE

I have heard mixed reports on this one. It was once prevailing wisdom that if you visited Israel the UAR and other Arab countries would not let you in.

I have a flight from DXB-JFK and will be doing some traveling before then. SInce we will sort of be "in the neighborhood" my wife and I thought it might be nice to visit Israel which we have not yet done.

My problem is that we have to be able to enter UAE for the flight. I have heard that Israel no longer stamps passports but will that make it certain that I can get into Dubai? I realize I will have to fly from somewhere other than Israel but I figure that can work.

A colleague of mine had no issues entering UAE at AUH in Jan '16 with an Israeli stamp from back when they stamped passports at TLV.

Your best bet is to check the UAE embassy page - I bet they would list it as a disqualifier. Or just call the UAE embassy in Washington and ask. I remember hearing that they stopped disqualifying people who had been to Israel a few years ago.

Per UAE embassy page (http://www.uae-embassy.org/services-...orts-and-visas)

Q: I am an American traveling to the UAE, will the UAE allow me entry if I have an Israeli stamp in my passport?
A: Yes.
That being said as noted above, I believe you can request an insert in Israel instead of a stamp so that this doesn't present an issue.

I got a 'insert' and faced no issue travelling through Dubai. I found it a lot more relaxing than travelling through Israel. Personally, I wouldn't travel to Israel right now. But I waited for a 'quiet spell' haha to make my trip. Not very common in the Middle East, I know.

Israel will issue your a stamp on a piece of paper that you can destroy once your depart Israel.

Israel is very aware that its neighbouring countries do not accept visitors whose travel documents show they were in Israel.

Anytime is a good time to visit Israel, the security is always good.

Even with Israeli stamps in a US or UK passport, such people are not generally stopped by immigration authorities at DXB. The era of the authorities at DXB and even AUH making an issue of this is now mostly gone and just history.

Israel no longer stamps passports! You get a little paper slip, automatically.

Israel still stamps some passports, but it's not common at TLV.

Israel "might" stamp passports at some of the land crossings. They 100% do NOT stamp at the airport. I WANTED a stamp and was unable to get one. GUWonder--on what basis are you saying they still stamp. They haven't for a number of years now.

Just flew TLV-AMM-DXB last week. No issues in DXB at all. Israel does not stamp passports at airport and has not for some years. and no issues in Israel either.. there is no reason to think this is a bad time to visit. The Jordanians are concerned about the drop in tourism, which they blamed on bad press.

While Israel is aware of what neighboring countries may think about people who have been to Israel, I dont think that was the motivation to go to their new system .its was a new system developed. you always had the option to not have your passport stamped, now there is just no option.
