Welcome to FT tracy01. ^

DXB is a bustling entrepôt based on trade, tourism and low taxation. The rulers have over the years followed the "build it and they will come" philosophy so these days the tourism infrastructure is quite amazing when you consider that only a few decades ago there was almost nothing there.

I would make the case that a trip to DXB is all about the hotel and you should go for the very best that you can afford. Find a resort hotel with a selection of good restaurants and an excellent pool area.

Welcome to FlyerTalk, tracy01!

First, FlyerTalk has many specific forums. Your question would seem ideal for the Middle East forum. I'll move it there.

Also, if you could clarify your question when you ask about
"that there develop quickly" (you can edit your first post at any time), that will help you get the best information about Dubai. Ocn Vw 1K, Moderator, TravelBuzz.
