Please help me get to Sharm

Just booked 10 days in April next year at the Hilton Sharm Dreams (bargain at 4K/nt). When is the best time to look for flights? Happy to fly with an LCC or any other options as would like to keep costs to a minimum.

Any suggestions on things to do and restaurants to visit would also be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure EasyJet are the only ones that fly direct to SSH from London (LTN) but it's way to early to book of course.

Alternatively it's TK vie IST or MS (Egypt Air) vie CAI...

Expect to pay £200 if you book early enough with EasyJet, otherwise you're looking at £400-£500 with the others.

It is a bargain indeed for this amount of points, the hotel has nice swimming pools and can use beach of Hilton Fayrouz located across the street. Food in the hotel is not so good quality, but in Naama Bay you will find plenty of restaurants. My favourite one is Fairuz, offering lebanese cuisine. It is located on top of Naama Center, very easy to spot.

As for things to do, you can try diving if you like or go for snorkeling trip to Dahab.

Thanks Stiwi

Is there a good choice and variety of restaurants in walking distance?

Having said it's way too early, I actually think they have recently extended the booking period, so you should be able to find flights for next April in about a month or so.

Yes, in fact whole Naama Bay is filled with restaurants, so you will be spoilt by choices. From Hilton Dreams the nicest way to get into Naama is to cross the street, go through Fayrouz towards the beach, turn right on the promenade and go straight. This is seaside promenade which will then lead you to the main promenade of Naama Bay when you turn right. If you like italian cuisine, Pomodoro is recommended. Also just after the Fayrouz (on the promenade), there is a restaurant called Tam Tam, offering pretty good lebanese cuisine (although not as good as Fairuz). For sushi there is Little Buddha. To try typical Egyptian food, Abou El Sid on top of Hard Rock cafe. If you like to smoke shisha or would like to try, Tche Tche on the main promenade has the best shisha in Sharm (try apple-mint, lemon-mint etc).

Have fun, Naama Bay is great. I would not stay anywhere else in Sharm.

If you would like to do some shopping, Old Market is considered to be cheaper than Naama Bay but still bargain as much as you can. You have to take a taxi, pay no more than 10 LE. There are also two nice restaurants in Old Sharm. Al Masriyin with egyptian food and pizzeria El Magnoum, which is a hidden gem, truly arabic pizza (it is not easy to find but ask people, they will show you the way).

Excellent. Thank you for the recommendations. I presume that there are also a good choice of other International restaurants in Naama?

Unfortunately there are not so many that offer high quality food and service. I would say Fairuz is the best, it is definitely one of the best lebanese restaurants I have ever come across and this is my favourite type of cuisine together with Thai. As for Thai, I tried the restaurant at Fayrouz called Kiwi and was not impressed. Apparently the best Thai restaurant is at the Hyatt but haven't tried it. There is also Hard Rock if you are up to that kind of food. Most of the restaurants are pretty laid back, you can have a nice fresh fish almost anywhere. I personally find the choices in Sharm to be limited when it comes to the quality and service, but you can't go wrong with the places I recommended.
