Erbil Kurdistan

Looks like I need to get out to Erbil soon and will be travelling from the UK. Can anyone update on the present situation, best flight routing and hotel recommendations?

You have a minimum of six airline choices:
OS via VIE
TK via IST
PC also from SAW
RJ via AMM
ME via BEY
QR via DOH
EK via DXB

Also Lufthansa via FRA, starting from any number of UK regional airports including ABZ. Shares with the OS via VIE some days I think.

Has anyone travelled out to Erbil recently that can offer any details of the state of the area and security update please?

Erbil is tense but for the most part business as usual. It is a very resilient city and unfortunately quite used to conflict on its doorstep.

Agree with this assessment. The security situation in the city is stable. You should have no issues in the city itself. There is, of course, a risk of IS car bomb or other attacks.
