Dubai data sim and/or USB dongle
Hi,
Family hol to Dubai at the end of the week. Staying in the hilton jumeirah residences, and internet looks to be 100AED per day. We're there for 10 nights, so it's prohibitably expensive.
Thinking it may be cheaper to get a UAE data SIM for my ZTE dongle (currently UK '3' network.)
Does anyone have any opinions on which network to go on? I'd like a fixed cost for say 5GB of data, on a prepaid basis, so that i CANNOT exceed what i've budgeted.
Also does anyone know if any UAE sims will work in my ZTE usb dongle, or should I just buy a dongle from one of the UAE suppliers?
Thanks.

Sometimes wired connections are free, but wireless is charged for. If this is the case for your hotel, another option would be to take a wireless travel router with you - this then gets you free wireless access in your room.
If you want to go the dongle route, the most hassle-free option will be to buy a local dongle: then if it doesn't work you can get them to fix it for you. If you use your own dongle and it doesn't work you won't know if it's because the SIM is not compatible with the dongle, or because you haven't set it up correctly.

You can probably buy at the airport on arrival.
