Flying to Dubai with private nude pictures on my computer.
I’m flying to Dubai next week for a few days between my travel.
I have a laptop with encryption software for my sensitive information. I have a also private porn pictures and some movies ( nothing illegal in my country ) on that encrypted part of my computer.;) Should I be worried when I go to Dubai as that the immigration is checking everything for something illegal? I do not want to delete my private xxx stuff as I go Holland after Dubai and I don’t want to lose it. Thanks for any advise or info. |
It's very, very, very unlikely that they'd check. Unlike Riyadh, I've never heard of anyone arriving in Dubai having their computer checked.
However, if they did and found the stash, you'd be in serious trouble. I'd be shocked if there aren't many business travellers going in and out of Dubai with less-than-clean pictures and films on their laptops. |
Could you put all your questionable content within a password protected rar/zip file and name it europe holiday 2006 photos or simialr?
One file called "Europe 2006 Photos.rar" looks a lot less suss that a whole heap of jpgs and avi's with 'creative' titles :p |
I second that thought... An even better idea, since I live in this part of world, is to send me those questionable pics and movies. I'll look at them and see if they'll get you into any trouble :D.
Joking aside, of the dozen + times I've been to/through Dubai in the last 18 months, no one has ever checked my laptop or its contents. |
"This thread is useless without pictures."

I lived in Dubai and have been in and out of there many times (including just last month)... also been all over the region: Sudan, Iran, Yemen, Syria etc.
The only places my laptop has ever been looked at are San Francisco and Atlanta. |
