Egypt - VISA at Cairo Airport

I've booked a long weekend in Egypt in March - never been before and we are arriving at Cairo Airport (with BMI) from London. I'm a UK passport holder and my partner is a US passport holder - from what I read, am I right in assuming we can obtain a visa on arrival at Cairo? If so, is the process easy?

Thanks in advance for your input

Yes - it's US$15 per person, cash. Bank kiosks will sell you the visa - a small passport sticker. You then hand it to the immigration officer with your passport and he will affix it to a page along with a stamp.

If you don't have USD on you, have your partner bring $30. They can convert currency if you don't have USD, but they wanted to give me a pretty bad rate when I attempted to hand over 20 Euros at first. (I quickly switched to USD.)

You can also get the visas from Egyptian embassies and consulates around the world (or so I'm told), but getting them at the airport was easy. Buy your visa before you get into any queues for immigration.
