Hotel near Orange or Blue Metro line

My parents need a rather inexpensive hotel near the orange or blue metro lines for Next Tuesday night. Budget would be less then $100 and a not too sketchy area. Any area along those two lines would be fine.

Any suggestions?

In VA? DC? MD? Where are they coming from on Tuesday, and where do they need to go on Wednesday? The area covered by the Blue and Orange lines is quite large; it would be helpful if you could narrow things down a bit.

That said, there should be some rooms available at or near that price point, but the hotels are likely to be older, perhaps independents. For example, I can't vouch for the quality, but the Americana Hotel in Crystal City is within easy walking distance of the Blue Line and advertises rooms for $99.

Did you try to priceline something downtown first? You might get lucky.

Just spoke to my dad. He's looking to go to the Capitol South Station.

My guess would be that staying in Pentagon City/Crystal City (blue line) would be pretty cheap. You can look at the properties there. Some decent restaurants (does he like kabobs?) nearby as well!
