Train to EWR

Last week I took the southbound train, NE Corridor Line, from the airport. On the way to EWR, same as always, on the way back, it was the newer double-decker cars. Has anyone else been on them? I had heard they existed but curious, how new are they?

Anyway, at first I briefly panicked thinking, oh no, how the heck am I going to maneuver this 50 lb suitcase either up or down (bi-level)?! Alas, there is a portion of the cars that are handicapped accessible on the entry/platform-level and wide enough to sit with luggage in front of you without blocking the aisle.

They're pretty nice with bucket seats and enough seats to seemingly accommodate the volume. Quite nice.

Yes, they are quite nice!

Yes, I too once or twice experienced the double-decker trains going to and from EWR station to Penn Station NY. Yes, they are nice and the luggage area is very convenient. For once, a hassle-free ride.
