Whatever happened to putting up electronic displays showing when the next bus was coming to a bus stop? Wasn't that supposed to be what followed the erection of displays at the Metro stations?

Although I do not use Metro much, it seems that they are having enough problems keeping train signs working. I have seen the bus signs in other cities and often wonder why DC's metro system cannot compete with other major metro systems?

I ride the Metro a lot. The signs work very well there now.

Metrobus has never heard of www.nextbus.com

One line, 38B, running from Farragut Square through Georgetown & Rosslyn to Ballston has (or used to have 2 yrs ago) that system, and displays at the larger stops.

I've found the signs at DCA Metro station, at Rosslyn and other places in N. VA and MD to be out of service more times than I can count. Generally, they are up, but too often they are not.

I find the signs in the Tube in London and on T-bana in Stockholm to be functioning more consistently than with DC-Metro. DC Metro rising to a comparable level would be an improvement -- even if slightly more.

I've seen it on stretches of Clarendon/Wilson Blvd when driving by. Does it still function? :D

I don't know about DCA, except that it worked well on the last 2 trips there. I usuallly ride the Green and Red Lines from downtown to Greenbelt via Fort Totten and they have always worked for me.
