Customs Fast Track?

Arrived IAD Jan 8 at about 8pm and found a customs line that just about filled the coral. There were 3 Customs agents so the line was over 50 min long.(not quite an hour) From the looks of the coral, this waitis going to be commonplace.

Is there any fast track system like the one at LHR?

I arrived at IAD on 5th December and 1st January at 2:30pm and 3:30pm ( VS flights) and when we arrived at Immigration/Customs , no one else was in line so I cleared I/C in less than 10mins ( by the time I arrived at baggae reclaim my bags had already been removed from the carrousel and were on the floor ( VS gold/Premium Economy tag). I have never had a bad experience at IAD. ( Probably just lucky)

I have cleared IAD customs about 50 times in the past. Always at 2-4pm on the typical Europe-IAD flight. Always wondered the purpose of the large corral. Usually 6 or so customs agents for US citizens. 5-10 min wait.

This 8pm arrival was a delayed VS LHR flight (5 hours to deice!?). 3 agents and a lot of people pouring in the behind us. The line had to be 90 min long when we past through customs.
