Inexpensive Safe hotel near DC Metro/Beltway?

Also posted in UA Fourm

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive suburban D.C.-area hotel, ideally near a Metro Station and the beltway. I realize this is a bit of a tall order! Crystal City, Alexandria or Arlington would be pretty good, as would the lower Dulles Corridor. Might do hotels.com, but likely not priceline.

Thank you in advance.

I suggest you go to the FT hotel forums (ie Hilton, Starwood etc) and conduct a search there. Use "crystal" or whatever for a start. Honestly, your question is too broad for any reasonable answer.

You need to quantify "inexpensive".

Consider the Hilton Arlington & Towers. Built over the Ballston Metro stop, connected to Ballston Commons Mall. Weekend AAA rates from around $75. $100 for a towers room.

Oh, please. Are there still people who pay $75-$100 for hotel rooms? $45 on Priceline in Crystal City will get you into the 3* rated Hilton or Marriott.

In reality the $45 rate you refer to seems only snaggable for Fri and Sat only and occasionally Sun. The OP never did define what days, dates and whatsa he considers "inexpensive" nor did he amplfy further. I thought he wanted an immediate answer by posting in so many forums. I guess by "safe" we know what he means.
