Two hours or even 1:20 should be no problem at PHL. If you come in on a domestic flight, you just walk from your inbound gate to your outbound gate. No queues of any kind. Terminal A is in two sections, East (domestic) and West (international) but it's only about a 15-minute walk from the very end of East to the very end of West.
I'm not sure if you mean to come to PHL from MIA or ORD, but at that time of day, either one could be delayed by any number of factors. (I am assuming you mean a 16:50 arrival, not 04:50.)
One other thing to note is that AA has been notorious for messing around with flight times/numbers over the last couple of years as it absorbs the schedule of the erstwhile US Airways. Pretty much every AA itinerary I've booked in the last two years has had multiple changes to the itinerary--time changes, flight number changes, aircraft changes, etc.--in the time between the ticket purchase and the trip. You may find yourself with a tighter connection than you originally purchased.
