A couple hotels start early - the Double Tree and the Hilton both start around 4:30 am.

Worked out just fine, got a Lyft to the Holiday Inn National Airport, arrived late evening then shuttle next morning to the airport. :tu:

DCA is walkable if you don't have a lot of luggage.

Weekend prices for area hotels have been low this summer. $100 -$120 plus taxes have been easily obtained.

That hotel has been going for something like $97+ tax this month on the AAA rate. It does come up about $20-30 cheaper on Hotwire “opaque” bookings, but cash back sites for IHG website bookings and the IHG loyalty program narrow the value gap between the Hotwire “hot rate” bookings and “direct” bookings.
