BWI Concourse A to B30 Bus

Anyone know how long it takes to get out of one of the A gates (WN) to catch the B30 bus to MTA? No luggage

No bags and at a decent pace, 10 to 15 minutes max, especially if you're somewhat familiar with BWI.

Lower level, then you go left and to the center curb.

The B30 stops outside the WN terminal. Just walk out from the baggage claim, turn left, and look for the signs for "Regional Bus." The fare is $6 cash.

(The other B30 stop and the Baltimore light rail station are at the other end of BWI's U-shaped terminal. To get there, take any of the BWI shuttle buses to the end of the terminal.)

If it's a weekday, you might consider taking MARC to Union Station instead. I've been burned by the WMATA airport buses one too many times. They run way too infrequently and severe delays or sardine-can crowding are all too common.

Thanks, gailwynand and paytonc. I was thinking about that option as I may have to make a passport run. I think the fare is also $6 on the MARC? Also, does the 1 day unlimited metro card useable for bus?

No it's Metro only. You can't use the paper farecards on the bus at all.

Definitely recommend MARC is it's weekday.

On a weekend, I'd still consider Amtrak at $15 for a NE Regional train. If you don't have to wait too long for the shuttle from BWI to the BWI rail station (sadly, not a given), it's about 35 minutes from there to Union Station. That's only a few minutes longer than the B30 takes to deposit you at Greenbelt Metro, from where you have a long ride to downtown--longer on weekends if you're on the wrong side of Metro maintenance.
