Quickest way to Park Hyatt
Dear locals,
I'm arriving on Saturday into IAD about 1pm on the London flight. I only have hand baggage. How long do you think it will take me to get from landing to exit and what is the quickest way to the Park Hyatt (1201 24th St NW) at this time? I'm presuming it's a cab being the weekend traffic may be lighter but I'd appreciate your advice. Thanks |
Be aware that the Washington Metro has been doing a lot of track work during summer weekends, leading to reduced frequencies and bus service in some stretches. The details are posted on their website.
The quickest way is likely to be an expensive taxi ride or car service. |

Expect to be out in the queue for a taxi 40 mins-one hour after landing. Taxi journey, itself, should take about 40 mins. |
There's no rail service to Dulles. Your options are public bus-> rail (slowest); shared van (slower) or car/cab (least slow). Expense correlates with speed; cab from Dulles to the west end where your hotel is located is probably $60-70, I think.

Thanks for the tips. I had a very easy time getting out of Dulles. I was first off the plane (helps flying at the front) and thanks to some advice off here I managed to be first off the plate mover. Nobody ahead of me at either immigration or customs and despite the immigration computers crashing from the storm I was in cab less than 30 minutes after landing. Pretty impressive but I gather it's not always like this.
The roads were clear and I was at my hotel in about 30-something minutes. Total including 20% tip was $70. Thanks again for the help. |

Please tell me the a/c is working well and that the pool is open. We'll be there later this week.

Downtown is fine. Many folks in the suburbs are without power and will be for a few more days.
