PVR All Inclusive Suggestions
 

Going mid hune for a week. Looking for opinions as to all inclusives.
Myself and SO 50-55 no kids.

I stayed at the Melia. That was 5 years ago. Get a top floor room. The food very good, incredible breakfast, lots of drinks, not noisy, the beach not great, need a taxi to get to town but overall a great value at the time.
Not knowing your budget or preferences its hard to tell if this is the choice for you.

Premiere Spa and Villas...... suppose to be very very nice with good food....walking distance to town....and ano children policy.

Why would anyone want to go to PV in June?.... beastly hot and humid.

Honestly, I can not recommend any all inclusive place in PVR because I havn't stayed at any in PVR.

Puerto V has many places to go, things to do and restaurants to eat at, I don't know why anyone would want to go all inclusive. But that my opinion...

But I do understand that some people are just looking to relax and enjoy the beach. But if you are up for some adventure, dont go all inclusive! :p

Depending on what you're looking for IMO the two best destinations for AI/beach lounging are the Riviera Maya and the Dominican Republic. Huge resorts, with great food, great amenities, and just rest on the beach. AppleVacations does some great deals that include airfare, transfers, and hotel (AI).

It kills me to see people at all-inclusives in PV. There are really spectacular restaurants there (many of the chefs have worked for top-notch restaurants in cosmopolitan U.S. and European cities, and they generally "semi-retire" to PV to "have fun" with their restaurants while preparing amazing food at fractions of the prices of some trendy NYC or SF hot spot.

I agree there are great restaurants in PV. If you are bent on doing an AI, I do recommend the Grand Velas. It is a LHW and offers 5 star service. The onsite restaurants offered great meals as well. I spent a week there for conference last year and it was quite enjoyable.

I'd agree with this -- Grand Velas is a very nice spot, even if it's AI. :)

I have stayed twice at Grand Velas (it's in Nuevo Vallarta) and it did not disappoint. We are going again next year.

I second a couple of FTers suggesting not to stay at a A-I. We were there like 3 years ago and staying at a small A-I resort called Qualcom, catering mostly to Mexicans. It wasn't the best food ever, but since it was a hotwire deal, we got a very cheap rate and did not mind going out for food. And it was the best decision, there were so many great restaurants in PV. One of the few things that I like, otherwise I was a little disappointed with PV.
