Do it your own way beach scene in Cancun

You're welcome👍 Also, if you want to do a "do it your own way beach scene". Walk south on the strip to "Banco Azteca" make a left and follow the street to the beach. You can rent an umbrella and buy food. But, I never rent umbrellas or buy food there. I just bring a good hat (which I would recommend anywhere in Cancun) and go to the nearest convenient store and buy some food/snacks/beer or whatever you drink. Bring your hotel towel to lay down or a traveling blanket, turkish towel, etc. And have a nice time with the locals. I don't go to Cancun to hang around the tourists, but that's just me. I do tip the guys that maintain the beach. And if you're a really adventurous person, you can catch the ADO bus from the Cancun Airport ( to Downtown Cancun and then catch the circuit bus to the hotel zone) used to be about 100 pesos, and they can drop you right off in front of the Hilton Canopy. Regardless of what you do, just get used to saying "no gracias" to anybody offering you a ride. Enjoy your stay.

Thanks for the tips. Yeah last time I was in Cancun last year I remember leaving the airport and walking through the gauntlet of people hawking everything and their mother lol.

I'm a Hilton diamond so I'll take your advice. I'm also looking for a good taqueria close by that's open late (11 pm) for good burritos and tacos.

I'm glad you mentioned the beach as I was going to ask where and how I can access it from the Canopy.

I will visit the local OXXO for beer. In fact I still have the handy bag I bought from there last time I was there.

I went to the same chicken wing place every time I visited. Their margaritas were excellent and it sits right on the harbor with the boats. They have fans outdoors. I went for the sunset and atmosphere. It's called "TacoGrill" Next to the Aquarium at La Isla Shopping Mall. I never tried their tacos, but the taco place directly next to it gets really busy. The Ferris wheel at the mall might be something you may want to check out too before you leave. Good luck!

Was upgraded to large room overlooking the Ferris wheel. I also took a screen shot of my reservation so thanks for the tip. The fridge doesn’t work and the A/c is barely making cold air. Not happy.

I will be heading out to the beach soon.

Thanks to AA I was 2 hours late arriving last night and the only place open at 11:30 pm was a place called Cambalache. I ordered steak tacos and a side of fries. With a negra modelo it was $55 USD.

I hope I can find something more reasonable tonight.

Holy crap! $55USD?😅 I know you already know this, but the coastal cities get extremely HOT in the summer. Too bad about your room. I like that upgraded room overlooking the ferris wheel and the Veracruz flyers. Hope you breakfast was ok, it was when I was there, before Hilton started downgrading diamond benefits. Have a beer for me and enjoy the beach.
