Snacks and drinks - From Canada to cancun Mexico
Hi everyone, just wanted to ask if anyone has ever brought snacks from home to Mexico and onto their resort with no issues. My kids enjoy typical snacks ( goldfish, chips, granola bars, etc) and I’d like to pack a luggage of just these types of items. If checked, will this be ok?
secondly, I prefer a certain American beer (bud light) and would like to pack a 24 for the week into a checked bag. Will this be allowed? I will be declaring the alcohol and am willing to pay duty of course. Thanks in advance! |
All these products should be easily available in Mexico, unless you're going to some small village in the middle of nowhere.

There is a Costco, a Sams Club, and a couple Walmarts in Cancun. Besides these, you can purchase snack foods in nearly any store in Mexico, from the biggest to the street vendors. Nobody ever starves in Mexico.

You'll be fine.
If you have specific brands of food you want to bring with you then you can bring it into Mexico. It would be a smart idea to declare the 24 pack of Bud however they might just wave you off once they see it since it doesn't appear to be quantities which would raise suspicion. Just be discrete when you are at the resort as some of them might not like the consumption of outside food, especially in the common areas like lounge, swimming pool areas, beach etc...pay close attention to the signage which specifically prohibits this. Even in the absence of any signage, try to be discrete as they might try to argue otherwise. |
