We walked by Huset on our first night in CDMX and noticed how beautiful it was inside. On our second night, we didn't have any specific dinner plans but recalled how beautiful it was, so we ended up dining there. It was certainly expensive but the food was good and the cocktails were delicious. It was also a nice opportunity to dine in a very hip fine dining establishment with our then-seven year old. I don't know if I'd say it's a must visit but we certainly enjoyed our time there.

There are great day trips out of CDMX as well.

The most common one is probably to Teotihuacan, a huge urban area established by the mysterious Teotihuacan culture we only know about by the structures and paintings they left behind. Even the name assigned to them is a Nahuatl (Aztec) name meaning “House of the Gods”. This amazing place is well worth a day trip.

Other places worth a day trip - if not a couple or three days - are the Pueblos Mágicos, or Magic Villages within driving distance of CDMX.
