Resort: didn't receive two double beds
We had a problem with the accommodation promise to us - Two double beds
When we arrive having been up since 4am and Check-in was at 3pm (not a problem) we could not believe our eyes when we were assigned a KIng Bed and Sofa Sleeper. We brought it to desk clerk attention - who in turn relayed our concerns to his Supervisor. This individual explained “ they never guarantee a certain number of beds but simply how many person sleep in a room” He stated because of the high occupancy- parties with more than two persons would have precedence and stated Travel Agency was at fault for promising this and we should take it up with them. HE WAS NOT Accommodating Period. I think this was Unfair to pay the same amount and one person be relegated to a sofa sleeper. See hotel description; Description All Inclusive Located near the beach, this guestroom includes one king bed or two double beds, a lounge area with a sofa bed, and a furnished terrace. Room also features a stocked minibar, complimentary WiFi, and more. Are we entitled some sort of compensation - Just Asking? |
It looks like you got the room you paid for, a room with one king bed OR two doubles and a sofa sleeper. You have two people and sleeping space , as described, for two people. There is no guarantee about having two double beds in the room ( only one king OR two doubles). I know it's may not be ideal but you got what you paid for. The hotel has no way of knowing who will, or will not, share a bed.

It’s difficult to assign fault knowing nothing about the booking, terms and conditions, etc. - and you’re asking us to make a guess. Which property? What occupancy levels? If it was very recent, “semana Santa” and Spring break for many leading up to Easter probably mean occupancy was very high and there was little flexibility. (Nonetheless, rather than two doubles, you got a double sleeper sofa and a king bed - that might have meant a larger room, and certainly offered separate beds.)
If I were you I’d take up with the booking agency. If they “promised” two doubles (how was that expressed, exactly? Do you have that in writing?) they should have disclosed the property might choose different accommodations for their clients. |
