Here now - thanks JDiver. Perfectly nice lounge out of the retail fray of the airport. Easy to find by just heading right out of the duty free gauntlet which you are forced to walk through after security (which BTW was a breeze -- shoes ON!!).

Cost is $33 USD, but closer to $29 if you pay in pesos (we had just about the right amount left). They have wine, been, spirits, small sandwiches, nuts etc. We ended up with 3 hours to spare and figure we would have spent some of that total buying over-priced drinks in the airport .

[And the massage chairs are a real kick!]

Priority Pass is a paid world lounges scheme - some credit cards and hotel status cards allow one a free PC card that requires a charge for admittance.

Thanks for the update... Should of kept my Diners Club card...

BTW, what's "Priority Pass"? Given at check-in counter (say if I have a business class ticket)?

Update about the Mera Business Lounge at Cancun Airport.

In short, not really worth it unless you have to just check it out. Forget to take a picture of the 'requirement' to get in. But IIRC, all *G and J ticket seems to be OK.

The 'room' is small and warm. Very crowed and often full, and I see agent not letting people in a couple of times because of capacity issue.

Food Only thing good is drinks and free wifi...

Confused about admission Hours to T3 Lounge

For the Business Lounge in T3 of Cancun airport

From Priority Pass Website:

Opening Hours: 08:00 - 12:00 & 15:00 - 21:00 daily. Cardholders will not be admitted to the Lounge outside these hours.

What does this mean?
(1) Lounge only open during these hours and closed from 12-15:00?
or (2) they are just not let anyone in during those hours due to capacity issue?

If (2), will you be ok if you get in prior to 12:00?

I have a flight at 2pm out of Cancun for US.

Thanks in advance.

Confused about admission Hours to T3 Lounge

I suspect the Priority Pass lounge page is incorrect.

The CUN VIP Lounge Page states it is open 8:00 - 21:00 daily at this time, as does the Diners Club page regarding the same (T-3 MERA) lounge.

I can't imagine PP has different hours than the lounge (not to mention its arrangement with Diners). I could certainly be wrong, but that would be very strange.

T-2 VIP lounge is one of the most pathetic that I have ever visited, and believe me I've seen some bad ones. Small and crowded, and it was actually uncomfortable due to the inadequate A/C (as this was winter I expect it is much worse in the summer). There are numerous TV but all tuned to the same station. My 6-year old enjoyed the mini-sandwiches (I would never touch these) - otherwise food was limited to a few cookies. Beverage selection included a few warm soft drink cans and bottled beers.

Even Lagos and Caracas had better lounges!

Slightly off topic.

I'm flying AA back to JFK. I have no status with them. I'm sitting in coach. When should I arrive at the airport. I heard the check in lines are bad.

Thanks.

Tsk, tsk, tsk, not slightly but way out of topic! Shame on you, also because you double posted in the correct thread. And this, coming from a FT evangelist: tsk, tsk, tsk

Does anyone know the current status of PP access to the MERA lounge in terminal 3?

I know many lounges stop accepting PP admission during busy times, and it appears this is one of them, but it's not 100% clear what they consider busy times. The PP website suggests that it might be 16:30-19:30, but I've also seen some reports that it might be earlier -- though those reports might also be referring to the T2 lounge.

Does anyone have any recent data points? I'm hoping to use the lounge before a 13:00 flight.
