Casa Dorada Los Cabos
Anyone every stay here? Comments on the property and or surrounding area, tips, etc.... My sister is having her birthday party there this summer. Seems like a timeshare place and rooms for rent.

I stayed there a few years ago on a promo deal. It's a very nice physical property in a great location (ground zero of Medano beach), but they do push the timeshare sales pitch quite hard. Rooms are full suites, and very nicely appointed. Car parking spaces are scarce.
The price you must pay is all over the map, depending on weather you're paying full freight, or getting a heavy discount in the hope that they'll sell you a unit. I can't speak to whether the sales pitch softens or disappears to the folks paying the full rate, but for folks on a promo deal, it's non-stop and high intensity/pressure. |

Thanks, rates for the weekend I'm going is 249 a night plus taxes. Do you know if there are any other places that you would recommend near by for cheaper?

Probably, but not likely you'll get a full suite like Casa Dorada without subjecting yourself to a similar timeshare selling environment. Certainly individual hotel rooms around Medano Beach could be gotten for ~$200 or so a night.

The Sheraton is one of my favorite places along the corridor, and not too far from Medano Beach. But like any place along the corridor, you need a car to not be highly resort-bound.
