Excellence Resorts in Cancun?
 

Hi All,

i was wondering if anyone had stayed at the excellence resorts in Cancun? I'm planning on going for a 3 night getaway in December. I have been searching for hotels and the nicest all inclusive hotel I found was the Excellence Playa Mujeres.

Can anyone tell me how this hotel is? Also, it seems pretty far from the Hotel zone. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I stayed there twice last December and had an incredible time. We are going back again this year....

From the time they greet you at the door with cool cloths to the time you check out....wow....:D

We stayed there last April.

I wouldn't give a dime to the water sports group on site at EPM. I experienced a nightmare dive scenario with Aquaworld and contemplated going viral on the web but decided against it. PM me if you'd like the story. I've since been told that several divers didn't make it back in the past. After experiencing their "product" I can understand why.

The hotel wanted nothing to do with the problems when I checked out.

Food was better than average for an all inclusive, service was very good.

Thanks to Aquaworld I will never return to the Excellence Playa Mujeres or recommend them as a destination.

I just got back from EPM this past week and it was fantastic. Both are great. Here are the differences:
EPM:
- more traditional Mexican architecture
- located mid way between Cancun and Playa del Carmen - so, if you wish to go to PDC, this would be a better resort option

EPM:
- brand new resort (opened Nov 2007)
- more modern look and feel
- located 30 min north of Cancun

Both are 6 star, all incl, adults only. I believe both are running a 35% off sale right now. I have probably sent at least several hundred clients between the two over the past few years, and no complaints from anyone yet. Feel free to let me know if you have more questions.
