Just a note, they have recently changed their policy - platinums are now provided with continental breakfast coupon only and the 50% family discount is gone.

We got two coupons per day which we were able to combine to use four on one day (because we left early the last day and couldn't use those two.) This was in addition to our 500 point amenity.

Cheers,

Just came back from 3 nights at the Sheraton LBV. Location is great with many restaurants within walking distance. Pool is super and as SPG Gold had the Resort Fee reduced from $16.95 to $9.95 however................

Air conditioners in the room are dreadful. So noisy they woke us up continuously every night. Rooms are in need of a refresh as do look tacky. Lost water one evening to our room and when it came back it was filthy brown.

Sorry SPG I love the group but not this hotel as it put a damper on our vacation as everyone was tired.

I'll be staying there next month with two rooms. I'm platinum. Will the resort fee be waived for both rooms?

I am also wondering if they will waive the resort room for both rooms. Does anyone know if they have connecting rooms. I will be going with my wife and 3 kids and want 2 rooms but they must connect.

Hi tristyp,

Connecting rooms are available but not guaranteed. I would suggest you to reach out to the hotel to request.

Whats the difference between this place and the Vistana property's? Are they all the same area/share facilities ? or is Vistana its own thing ?

edit - I understand the vistanas are timeshare places, but is that essentially the only difference ?

Completely different properties in different locations.

Cheers,
Thanks, yeah I see that now, I was a little confused at 1st and thought
it was all 1 place, especially since the Vistana name is so close. I thought maybe it was all 1 property with just different buildings.

Is there anyone that can compare this sheraton to the vistana places? It seems like amount the vistanas the I drive one is the better one? What about that vs this sheraton ? I don't care much about location, just want a nice place to stay and a nice pool, one that has a shallow end for kids (which it seems they all do) I have no status so that's not a consideration either.

Bumping for any recent reviews. Considering it in late August for the family where we would need 2 rooms or a junior suite and connecting room. The rates are pretty appealing, and there are numerous promotions/offers to reduce food/resort fees, etc.

But I wonder if the prices are too good to be true?

Does the hotel offer any complimentary shuttle service to the parks?

AirCon is/was a major issue here when we stayed a year ago. Noise kept us awake.

Just finished 5 nights here for a business trip. Was put into a building 4 suite, and they waived the resort fee as a Plat so I only spent $74+tax per night.

Really enjoyed this hotel. The pool complex was absolutely fantastic, the continental breakfast was above average, and the staff went out of their way for me (I called the front desk to ask what time the market closed so I could get something to drink, and it was closed. Few minutes later a staff member knocked on my door with bottles of water).

I'll absolutely stay there again when business takes me to Orlando next.

Stayed there this weekend - property was sold out, got a standard room with view of parking lot / roadway in the main building.

Platinum benefits received at the property:

- Standard Platinum Amenity - Choice of 500 points or In Room Movie
- Resort fee waived ($19.95 per night)
- Self Parking fee waived
- Free continental breakfast for two in the Zest restaurant (Cold items & Pastries from the buffet, $6 each person additional for hot items)

Appreciate the waived parking & resort fees as a platinum member!

Property Opting Out of Elite Benefits for the "Holiday Period"

We stay here quite a bit for weekend trips to Disney World, as the price is right as a Cat 2 property, although the added self-parking charge (used to be free) will push us to other properties if I'm paying.

Just got this email from the property that basically says, we're too busy to even think about offering you complimentary upgrades or 4pm late checkouts. Granted, my expectations as a Gold member are already pretty low, so I'm not really affected by the limitations. However, if this is the attitude towards Platinum benefits as well, then consider yourself advised.

(Also, for those of us who pay the resort fee, or a portion of it, it looks like they've increased it since my last stay here.)

Subject: Season’s greetings to our Gold Guest from the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort!!
To: Jhourdan Marsh <[email protected]>

We look forward to seeing you soon over the holiday season. As the Resort and Orlando area will be very busy during the holiday period, we wanted to send out some tips to assist you during your stay.

For our resort, please note that as a Gold guest, we do reduce the daily Resort Fee to $11.95 from $21.95 plus tax. Self-parking is $15 plus tax daily or valet parking is $20 plus tax daily. In addition, as a valued Gold member, you are offered a Welcome gift of 250 bonus points or one complimentary beverage at 27 Palms or Zest Lounge during your stay.

Please note that due to the occupancy levels of the resort complimentary upgrades will not be available. We will certainly do our best to accommodate your needs. Due to the occupancy levels each night, early check in may not be available. In addition, we will be happy to extend a late check out up to 2pm, based on availability. We will not be able to grant a 4pm late checkout during the entire holiday period. . We truly appreciate your loyalty to Starwood and thank you for selecting to stay with us during the holiday season.

Thank you in advance and we look forward to being your home away from home during the holiday season. Please let me know if I may be of any assistance prior to or during your stay. We truly appreciate your loyalty to Starwood and thank you for selecting to stay with us during the holiday season.

Looks like the resort fee is now up to $21.95. Anyone know if that is still waived for plats?
