Speaking of cringeworthy terms, one upside here is that, with the invention of the Titanium level, we should be able to say Bonvoyage to 'PlatMinus'. ^

This top Elite status tier recognizes members who surpass 100 nights and more than $20,000 in spend annually.
I opened the Ritz Visa last July which comes with 12 months of Gold in the pre-merger MR program. In the Bonvoy program will I be Platinum until July 2019? Thank you.

Never!

When I hear Bonvoy, I think Bon voyage, which is what I suspect most people will be doing in the new year. I mean, the properties have already been defecting in droves. Marriott is the absolute worst.

Will Titanium members get free downloads of the David Guetta and Sia song "Titanium"? It could help lerning the phrase "I am Titanium!"
I think a Membership Card made of Titanium is out of the question.

And before I close, 'Hello Bonvoy'. There. I said it.

I like the new tiers but the Marriott site is down this morning. Too much hype I guess.

Will my Amex SPG have to carry the new (lame) name?

I hope that Amex doesn’t send me a new card with Bonvoy stamped all over.

So this change makes me a "Marriott Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium Elite" and "Marriiot Bonvoy Ambassador Elite". That's a mouthful. Hopefully, I'm simply addressed as god.

I like that Starwood Lurkers are now the de facto representatives of Marriott Rewards/Bonvoy on FT. This is giving the new program a good kickstart here.

Any basis for that statement?

based on Marriott's securities filings, the number of hotels continues to grow.

and of course, random Fairfield Inns give up Marriott affiliation rather than renovate to Marriott standards

Lifetime Platinum Premier Elite will be called Marriott Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium Elite.

Wow.

I can just see it. "DYKWIA? I'm a MBLTE. So get outta my way! "
