At least it's not BonVoya. I'm sick of the orange and green rabbits as it is.

This does not affect the timelines for lifetime status.

As a reminder, members who achieve Lifetime status through either the legacy Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards, or SPG as well as the one-time offering of Platinum Premier Elite Lifetime status (750 nights and 10 years at Platinum Elite Status) will be reflected in their accounts in January 2019, as we will perform a year-end true-up for these members. We believe that all night totals are now accurate. For information on our new Elite Status tiers and criteria for eligibility please visit: https://www.marriott.com/loyalty/member-benefits.mi

The name is in line with the merger, app, and customer service experience.

The Elite Status name change on 2/13 will apply to Lifetime Status, too. Lifetime Platinum Premier Elite will be called Marriott Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium Elite.

Is not what was LTPP, now LTMRBTE (LifeTime Marriott Rewards BonVoy Titanim Elite) both the same thing?

Thanks very much for this update, Alexandra. I couldn't help but notice, though, that you avoided any reference to LT year count and accuracy on that front. Do you anticipate that members can expect to see further fluctuations in LT year count prior to or as part of the sweep?

Let’s face it. Great names have never really been Marriott’s thing.

It all started with Hot Shoppes. That’s corny as well. But they were a crazy success. Let’s hope the same for Bonvoy.

Having been through a corporate branding exercise run by a supposedly top agency from the inside, trust me, you don’t want to know.

Not as easy to trademark as a made up word.

I like @soy's nickname -- Bonfire. Reminds me of the dumpster fire that dealing with Marriott corporate (IT/website/customer disservice) has become. At least the properties have been consistently good for me (minus one -- RI North Portland).

Re: the meetmarriottbonvoy.marriott.com website -- who the hell designed this? The visual effects are terribly annoying and it gives no information! I'm at work, so I'm sure as hell not going to be playing a video at work. Obviously whoever designs this stuff has never been a business traveler or worked in a proper office.

This isn't much better. The WoH confusion over Explorist, Globalist, Podiatrist, etc. drove me to ignore the program. Bonvoy sounds silly, like a child's fashion brand or a boutique food-delivery app, and is not a word I am ever going to voluntarily utter out loud.

Then pray tell what was the point of replacing a name everyone understood -- "Rewards" -- with a nonsense coinage that has to be explained to everyone?
