Noob: Can I use Free E-Certficate for St.Regis Istanbul
Hello, the job that I have requires frequent hotel stays. Suffice to say, I'm now a platinum with Marriott this year.
I have two free e-certs I want to use one night 1/20 to 1/21 for Istanbul Turkey before we head back to US.
I called Marriott reservation I couldn't get a straight answer from her, I honestly think she doesn't know if I could use the e-certs for St. Regis. I ended up booking with the Sofa hotel by Autograph.
But I was wondering, has anyone here been able to use a free ecert at this hotel?
Is it too late to cancel; the ecert and try again?
Thank you.

Until St Regis ends up on the Marriott platform, you're going to struggle to find an agent able to do the reservation properly.
I'd stick with what you have and revisit the matter in December or early January. (assuming of course your certificates would allow you to book the St Regis Istanbul)

Hi Makin miles, I have the Marriott rewards CC. The two free e-certs came from the Marriott rewards CC ($85 annual fee one - the older one before the Premier Plus $95 one). One year from 2016 and the other 2017. The 2016 expired, but the Marriott rep was very nice to re-activate that one.
Oh and I thought the free e certs were good up to Cat 5??

that being said you can book SPG properties w/ certificates now. Had a great agent last Wednesday who did it for me .... took 2-3 minutes since she needed to book it with points then afterwards apply the certificate.
