50 points, but at least the image order made my OCD happy today!

AC day: 50 points

However, I think Starriott's IT problems have infected this forum on FT. This thread has disappeared for me from the pages listing recently active threads in this forum, going back about five days--which is way back from its most recent posts. Searching for "29 ways" worked, but it should not have been necessary to do this. I don't understand the problem.

Played for the first time today, I’d forgotten about this promotion. 500 points - laughed when I saw the “it will take 8-10 weeks for your points to post” message.

I won 4 nights at fairfield. I've been sent documents to sign that state I'll be taxed on $1800. Is there any way to dispute the value of this?

4 nights at 99.9% of all fairfields would be under $400. I think I'll the prize go unclaimed if they want to tax me for $1800.

Mostly just 50 points, with a few misses. But I did win 1,000 points on one day.

Congratulations on your win, and welcome to flyertalk! See below for an earlier suggestion:

Those subject to US taxation should be aware that it is possible to challenge the value of a prize as reported by the competion promoter on form 1099-MISC. Feed your favourite search engine with terms such as "prize", "dispute", "approximate retail value" and "fair market value".

Factors to take into account could include the actual retail pricing of hotels booked or the cost of buying points (taking into account any discounts available).

That's what we call a booby prize. I'm so glad I dodged that bullet. Instead, I'll get a tax form for the 2050 points I've gotten during the game. Is it like a buck? IDK. Estimated value is $14,35.

2 days to go. I hope they've saved lots of the good prizes and provide an extra treat for those competing every day. If not and if I have to fill in a tax return for the 350 points I've won then I'll try to offset the benefit against the cost of the electricity for playing and the wear and tear on my fingers.

My guess (& it's only that) is the folk winning the 4-night stays & the grand prizes are the ones that will have to fill out the form for taxes.

Cheers.

At least you give me hope! I have only garnered 50 or sweeps entries so far and have played every day. I won 50 points 11 times (550 points so far)
