All I keep hearing is “known issue”. “We’re working on it” “could take a while “

Honestly, in the past I would have thought 2 WEEKS was ridiculously long to solve an issue like this let alone 2 MONTHS and counting

I wonder how many people are affected

Please post any updates!

Actually it is specified in the Terms and Condition at the bottom:

nights spent while redeeming an award are not eligible for bonus points.

Wow. Just wow. But not in a good way. Just checked my account and noticed that a very large number of status nights disappeared. I am back to my SPG pre-merger nights number (i.e. all Marriott nights are gone). Instead of easily clearing the 750 nights threshold I am now notably under and cannot reach 750 nights by 12/31. I opened a ticket right away. Whether this gets resolved in time, and whether Marriott will be able to figure this out post fact starting on 1/1 I doubt very much. This is aggravating and disappointing.

And that iha been one of my main issues with the merger prior to the IT issues. I have always thought of Marriott like Hilton a big brand with a lot of properties at all price points. SPG was similar to Hyatt a more upscale brand mostly full service and upscale properties with a much smaller footprint. Those guests want/expect a different level of service. I have read about all kinds of people unable to make Ambassador because of the spend requirements, SPG never had one since at 100 nights unless you were in Asia a lot it 200 bucks a night is relatively easy.

I sitll haven't merged my SPG account with my Marriott, anyone have advice to either do it or wait? Keep my SPG number or keep my Marriott number? At this point it is just for simplicity as I am moving away from the brand after 10 years of status as this is continuing to be ridiculous. I shoudn't have to micro manage my travel accounts when I already travel too damn much as it is but when I have to actually e-mail the company tracking my status to tell them they havn't updated or given me status credit for 2019 that's beyond stupid.

If your combined accounts will get you a higher status then combine your accounts NOW! You may not be able to get the bump, at least if legacy rules help, once the sweep has been completed. As to which account, it really shouldn't matter as I believe the have most, if not all, the early issues resolved (accounts beginning with zero as one). I chose my SPG number since it did not begin with zero and was during that time. However, if you're bailing from MPG, then there may be no reason to combine at all, although you will still have to manage the two accounts to burn all your points.

Have all of the issues with MR accounts that begin with zero been resolved? That's one of the factors preventing me from combining, although I suppose soon I'll have no choice and I probably should keep an account number that I almost have memorized.I had wanted to keep my old SPG number for sentimental value but since that isn't an option, I have no attachment to my new SPG number and we've never been told how they were assigned. If the answer is historical order, I might want to reconsider and keep the new Starwood number.

In terms of the poster you're answering, I'd be concerned that if someone permanently fails to combine accounts, eventually all of the points, lifetime nights, and any years of elite status will be lost.

My MR account started with a zero. I never saw the issues others were reporting. But, out of caution and a desire to cast a last vote for SPG, I chose my SPG account going forward, not that it will matter to anyone. What I find interesting is the fact that having two MPG accounts is against the T&Cs (funny how when it works for MPG it's ok to break the rules), I expect they will be manually combining accounts for some time, just like they have to do when a CC opens a new account instead of using the one you supplied when signing up. Not sure if there will be a lot of gaming the system with trying to earn double promo points and the such. But it is the playing ground they are providing. I am also expecting them to play the "the system won't let me" card when people want LTPP status that would have been granted had they combined accounts before the sweep. With FT being a very small percentage of the total MPG population, they will have their hands full for many months to come. Maybe they need to form a team to focus on account maintenance issues so stay related issues can be addressed quicker (oh wait, it's Marriott, never mind).

Does anyone see their Account activity online or is it just me that has been unable to see it for 4 months now and still waiting?

On a completely separate question - I reached Ambassador status about a month ago. Have had no contact or any confirmation of who my ambassador is/ Have travelled 3 or 4 times since. Is this normal - how do I contact them?? My son turns 18 with me on holidays at a Marriott hotel in Japan in a few weeks time and I kind of hoped that my Ambassador might help with a cake or something nice but I have no idea how to find out who or how to contact them. Any suggestions appreciated

My MR account has been showing no activity since early October, which is obviously wrong.

Mine hasn’t shown activity since September. It’s a problem for several members. Frustrating but apparently being fixed. I have to keep a separate excel spreadsheet to keep track.

What is scary to me is the variability of UI failures. I can see my activity but I can't get into my Profile Overview, request my SNA or other choice benefit and can't get into my Current / Lifetime status page. Without a doubt this is the worst system integration I've seen from a travel provider.
