Clarification from Starwood Lurker in post 125:
- In regards to the part of the offer where you can earn 1,000 points for trying a new brand…There is no minimum length of stay, but you only earn it starting with the second brand. So if you only stay at one brand during the promo period, you will not earn this bonus. But if you stay at 2 or more brands, you will earn 1,000 points for each of those brands after the first one even if the stay is only one night.
- You earn on every stay of 2+ nights, so it isn’t about accumulating nights. If you have two stays of 1 night each, you will not earn a bonus. If you have two accounts, you may register for MegaBonus with either or both accounts. You will only be able to earn with one account at a time because you will earn the bonus points in whichever account the stay was booked with. Example: If you have two accounts that are not combined: If you register for MegaBonus with your SPG number and stay with your SPG number, you will earn the bonus points in your SPG account. If you register for MegaBonus with your SPG number but book your stay with your MR number, you will not earn bonus points.

Thanks, I called the helpdesk and the lady registered, took less than 5 minutes all in all. But on the MR website, I don't see my progress of the promo like I used to, heck it doesn't even show I am registered for any promo's.

So we are now 5 total days past when the 29 ways to stay part of the promotion was supposed to start. I would of thought it would of started at least by today but again I stupidly got my hopes up! I can understand having to postpone the big merger a extra week.
I just don't understand how you can miss this deadline with 29 ways to stay. This is pretty embarrassing for Marriott! (The largest hotel company in the world)
William any update on this promo?

From my my last stay at Le Meridian Saigon I should have:
Base points @ 10 per $
Elite bonus @ 75% Base
Welcome points = 1000 points
Promo bonus = 2000 points
Should the 1000 Welcome points appear in the Base or Extra line? I ask this because the Extra line shows 2000 points which I assume to be the Promo points. My last stay before the promo began was at a Design hotel where the 1000 Welcome points appeared on the Extra line. Checking an older Renaissance posting and the 500 MR points also posted in the Extra line.
So, officially, where does the Welcome amenity appear? If it’s in Extra then this should have read 3000 points right?
Incidently, the stay and points posted the next day after check out just like the old SPG days. Just a data point for you all.

OK, I have a question about this because I’m unfamiliar with the way Marriott posts points.

If Meridian has 1,000 bonus points as a welcome amenity (I haven't got up to speed on all the *Wood brands), and you stayed for 2 or more nights, then yes, the "Extra" should be 3,000 points.
