Finer print:
*A 'stay' is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity.

Registration is required. Marriott Rewards, Starwood Preferred Guest, and The Ritz-Carlton Rewards (“Loyalty Program”) members who register for this promotion by January 7, 2019 will earn 2,000 bonus points per stay on stays of 2 or more nights at participating brands. Plus, members can earn an additional 1,000 bonus points per brand starting with the second brand at which the member stays during the promotion earning period. The promotion earning period is for stays between September 26, 2018 and January 31, 2019, at participating Marriott Rewards, SPG and Ritz-Carlton properties. A 'stay' is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity. Rooms booked through most third party online retailers and select travel agency bookings are ineligible to earn for this promotion. The member receiving this offer has been targeted and the offer is not transferable. Bonus points will be awarded to the member’s account up to six weeks after the promotion ends. Marriott Vacation Club® owner-occupied weeks are not eligible for bonus points and nights spent while redeeming an award are not eligible for bonus points. Only one room per hotel is counted toward a member’s nights or stay. Members electing to earn miles are not eligible for this promotion. For a list of current participating brands, visit https://www.marriott.com/loyalty/earn/hotels.mi. All Loyalty Program terms and conditions apply. See https://www.marriott.com/loyalty/terms/default.mi for more information. Visit www.Marriott.com/MorePlaces or call 888-MARRIOTT (888-627-7468) for complete details.

Clarification from Starwood Lurker in post 125:
  1. In regards to the part of the offer where you can earn 1,000 points for trying a new brand…There is no minimum length of stay, but you only earn it starting with the second brand. So if you only stay at one brand during the promo period, you will not earn this bonus. But if you stay at 2 or more brands, you will earn 1,000 points for each of those brands after the first one even if the stay is only one night.
  2. You earn on every stay of 2+ nights, so it isn’t about accumulating nights. If you have two stays of 1 night each, you will not earn a bonus. If you have two accounts, you may register for MegaBonus with either or both accounts. You will only be able to earn with one account at a time because you will earn the bonus points in whichever account the stay was booked with. Example: If you have two accounts that are not combined: If you register for MegaBonus with your SPG number and stay with your SPG number, you will earn the bonus points in your SPG account. If you register for MegaBonus with your SPG number but book your stay with your MR number, you will not earn bonus points.

^Thank you sir! Just want to add how appreciative I am that Marriott has you here & effective it is. Saved me going through another phone call and saved Marriott from handling that same unnecessary phone call.

What a joke. This promo is the worst I have seen in years and that after a horrendous couple of weeks of IT integration issues. This is utterly pathetic, I can't see any type of traveler where this might be attractive. Wow, expected little, but they managed to surpass that.

I wish people would stop whining on this board. All those disappointed by the merger, please jump ship and go to Hilton... You behave like babies...

She will just go to Hyatt where she can use an upgrade cert for the first stay or to Hilton where she gets 12%.

Marriott needs to incent the high spend high rev customers, not the guy who spends 4 nights at cheapo Rez Inn.
I'll take the bait. There's also the customer that spends 150 nights on the road doing sales (I'm not one but I know plenty), one night at a time, in places where a FFI may be the best option in town vs. the person that stays in a St. Regis twice a year on a multi-night stay.

This promo isn't good for anyone except those that only have 2 night stays. I get that Marriott probably has a huge cross-section of customers and patterns to try to keep happy, but I can't see how many customers of any type would find this promo exciting....

There was me thinking that forums were all about expressing opinions and giving feedback on the latest developments. I guess we should all love Marriott and never express anything negative?

No. Marriott has always been if you're at a hotel for two separate stays but they're consecutive days (ie, check out & check back in), it's considered one stay. IT issues aside, MAR (and other hotel chains) aren't stoo-pid. They (mostly) know how people try to game the program.

Cheers.[/QUOTE]

You answered my question in a wrong way. My question is the other way around if you read my original post #63 carefully.

The “29 Ways to Stay” promo has only 1 instant win allowed per person. The odds of winning 50 points (valued at 45˘) are 1 in 2. So almost everyone who plays twice will win 50 points and therefore be ineligible for the other instant win prizes.

After that, you’re just playing for the grand prize.

First, let me say that I'm completely underwhelmed by this promotion.

That aside. I'm one of those consultant road warriors, and because my client has negotiated a deal with the local Residence Inn (in Jersey City), it is the cheapest hotel by at least $100/night -- including Hilton and Hyatt; I checked there because of this lame promotion. It's still over $250/night. I'm there 4 nights a week, most weeks. Check the 2018 Future Stay thread. Not exactly what I'd call cheap.

Eventually I was able to see this promotion and register for it using my legacy SPG login credentials but I still don't see it under my Marriott account. Whatever; I'm feeling increasingly like notquiteaff:

A note about this promotion: I don't think I care enough to work through this thread and/or support to find a way to register. My money will go to Hilton.
I've got a stock of MR points that I'll burn through over the next year and then, I think, finalize my divorce. Too bad, we had a good run.

I ended up calling..and got a terrible specialist. She had no idea what is a promotion and kept asking me "are you trying to sign up for a elite challenge" after confirming my name, without confirming my status. Got on hold without her asking twice, for about 30 minutes. I decided to HUCA and just said mega bonus, done in 5 mins. Also don't like the aggressive auto line - needed to enter 6 zeros before it gave up and transferred me to a real person.

Glad I decided to do it while cooking so I didn't waste any of my time.
