FAQ from members.marriott.com
Q: CAN I EARN LIFETIME STATUS UNDER THE LEGACY REQUIREMENTS (ACTIVE PRIOR TO AUGUST 2018) FOR LIFETIME ELITE STATUS IN MARRIOTT REWARDS, RITZ-CARLTON REWARDS OR SPG? IF SO, WHEN WILL I BE NOTIFIED OF MY LIFETIME ELITE STATUS?
A: Yes, in addition to earning based on the new criteria, members can earn Lifetime Elite Status under the legacy requirements through the end of 2018. If Lifetime status is achieved by legacy requirements, between August and December 31, 2018 you will receive notice of your updated Lifetime Elite status in January 2019. If Lifetime status is achieved based on the new criteria, you will be notified both in August 2018 as well as any time it is achieved through the end of the year.
Example: An SPG member has 300 Lifetime nights, 4 years of Gold Elite Status, and 1 year of Platinum Elite Status after August, 2018. Under the SPG legacy Lifetime requirements, this member would earn Lifetime Gold Elite status which would reflect in their account January 2019.
Q: IF I WILL NOT BE GRANDFATHERED INTO LIFETIME PLATINUM PREMIER ELITE, WILL I HAVE THE ABILITY TO EARN INTO THIS LEVEL IN 2018?
A: Yes, members can earn Lifetime Platinum Premier Elite in 2018 if they achieve 750 Lifetime nights and 10 years at Platinum Elite status. This requirement is only for 2018 and will not be continued in future years. Members will receive notice of this Lifetime achievement in January 2019.

I have actually merged my accounts and in the app everything is as expected even my SPG BRG reservations show up, however on the website... No LT status , No SPG reservations etc ... so for now it seems that the app is functioning much better than the web page...

What a truly horrendous integration. It’s not like there were any surprises yesterday. I hope this is not a sign of the things to come. Absolutely piss poor work. It’s just a matter of time before this piss poor integration hits the news and becomes a case study for how not to do things.

Im really confused... Based on the following, will i recieve Marriott Lifetime Platinum Premier Status?
Marriott Rewards:
Nights: 574
Years of Platinum: 15
Points: approx.3 million
SPG:
Nights: 195
Years of Platinum: 2
Points: approx. 1.5 million
Combined Marriott and SPG:
Nights: 769
Years of Platinum: 17
Points: approx. 7.5 million
There seems to be no clear cut answer... Calling marriott rewards, they say yes... but reading online, reports are mixed...
Does anyone know?
Help!

1) I am seeing the infinity sign on the Marriott app.
2) It's showing LTP right now. After merging accounts I'll be eligible for LTPP.
Where in there is any invitation for your snark? Or was that something you learned in your "three or four dozen" trips to Asia? At least you would have learned something in that case.

And you will have PP benefits indefinitely (save for the SNAs which are an annual earned benefit)...don't listen to any mis-information you may see elsewhere. Congrats!

Currently after combining my accounts I stand at 9 Years as Plt and 850+ LT nights given the not stellar IT execution of this merger I guess anything is possible tomorrow.
However in order for me to have a shot at LTPP can I have a combined of 50 MR/SPG legacy nights or do I need to bucket at least 50 nights in either legacy SPG or MR properties?
Given the previous communications it would be the latter would be the case, however its weird that you can combine nights for #nights bit not for the #nenor ... it is what it is I guess ...also there is no official channel to track your #nights at SPG or MR properties

Your current status is based on last year's stays, not this year's stays. The number of nights needed is based on this year's numbers. Did you have at least seventy-five nights last year? If so you would be a current PP regardless of only having four stays this year.

What's your legacy numbers? LTPP is obtained by having MR LTP (>750 MR nights & >2M points), SPG LTP w/>750 nights & 10 years Plat, >750 combined nights and > 2M MR points, or >750 combined nights and >10 years MR Gold or Plat combined with SPG Plat. If you don't have the points or years, it's not likely to happen.

Even if I stay say 50 nights at legacy SPG properties before end of 2018? My current Nights this year is 3 nights with SPG but I will be very travel heavy at the end of this year. I was under the impression that you could qualify with combinations of #years until the end of the year ... maybe I was wrong...So the 2nd pathway in the wiki is not possible, i.e. New Combined Program - 750 [MR+SPG] nights & 10 years as Platinum members previously under MR or SPG as of 12/31/2018 - not available after 1/1/2019
25 stays (doing some hotel hopping) w/Starwood properties is probably your easiest bet
