Wanted to get everyone's thoughts and opinions on this. So I stay in 4-5 different hotels a week. I have a buddy who is a travel agent for American Express and he books all of my travel for my job! He loves doing it and keeps on top of my Marriott Account. So if I want to go to blah blah place I give him a call and he tells me my different hotel options and what the prices are and how close they are to my meeting's ECT. Probably saves me 2-3 hours a week. He is a huge help! He has my Marriott account login to make sure all the points post and if there is ever a issue he will call Marriott on the platinum line and pretend he is me and gets it all sorta out. Basically he is my travel agent lol and we travel together a lot on points I redeem. So he gets pay back a little.
So I wanted to see if Marriott allows say a assistant or travel agent to call in on their behalf to your Ambassador to get stuff fixed. I don't want to have him keep pretending it is me. I also don't want the ambassador asking why are you calling from 2 different numbers and your voice sounds differently!

I don’t see why your Ambassador or Marriott would care as long as that travel agent isn’t commissioned and is authorized by you to act on your behalf. I’m sure there are plenty of Ambassador guests who use their admin assistants or corporate travel reps in similar fashion.

Still no news about my ambassador. Maybe they dont have many ambassador that based in Asia - Pacific region.
My next trip that involve Marwood would be on November at the earliest. Still plenty of time.

Just as a data point...I was finally contacted by my Ambassador today. Over a month since the integration (I qualified for Ambassador status upon the merger, having over 150 nights' credit, and somewhere over $24k Marriott-only spend at the time; I'm now over 181 combined nights and $31k combined spend.) Based on area code, my Ambassador appears to live in Wichita, KS (which is in my home time zone, since I live in Chicagoland.) My introduction email did contain opt-out language.
i'll give her a call tomorrow and see how this works.

She first described the Ambassador program to me -- most of which I knew about from being an active participant here on FT. She had a set of questions to ask me (What's your room preference, what's your bed preference, do you have anyone else such as a wife or kids that you'd like me to know about, etc.) After we went through those, she asked me if there was anything else she could help me with. While on the phone, I said no...Because I forgot that I wanted to add my girlfriend to an upcoming SPG stay. So instead of calling her back, I emailed her directly. I haven't yet heard back from her on this matter, and I just checked the reservation. I'm not familiar enough with the SPG website to know precisely where to look, or if it will show up on there if she's accomplished the task, but I'm not really all that concerned about it either. The stay isn't until November, so there's plenty of time to get it fixed.

Hi smgainey,
We would like to help contact the Ambassador team for you if you could provide your account number to us via private mail here or by email below. If you could also provide the hotel name and dates when standard room is available for cash but not available for award reservation, we would look into this as well.
Best Regards,

When did you qualify for the Ambassador? I've been waiting since August 1st and to me it seems only fair that the newly qualifying folks are the ones who now have to wait.

I have the same Ambassador I had from before, and he continues to be a bit of a dud. I don't think I've really experienced anything unusually good during a stay that I can attribute to his intervention.
anyways, the issue that I have has to do with the status level displayed. after the merge, it correctly showed PP with Amb status, and LTP (as I don't expect the LTPP to update until sometime in Jan). then a few weeks ago, the Amb status stopped being shown. I've asked him to look into this, but it sounds to me like he isn't following up on it, and just blindly assuring me I have Amb status now, and have more than enough SPG nights this year to requalify for Amb status for next year (as the lack of a $20K USD spend is not relevant this one last time).
anyone else have their Amb status no longer indicating?
suggestions on how to get someone to actually look to make sure this isn't yet another IT issue that needs to be resolved? the last time I contacted general help it took them two weeks to respond, and by then the issue had been resolved already.
on the plus side, I have to say that everything else appears to be working and correct now in my account.

How many SPG (only) NIGHTS do you have during 2018? Ambassador status has nothing to do with STAYS, now or during the premerger Starwood period.

I guess if/when I no longer qualify for Ambassador Service, I'll argue that I should be given an extra month or two due to the delays I've experienced in receiving a published elite benefit.
Alternatively, if Ambassador Service is supposed to be so special and so valuable, Starriott should offer a bunch of points to those of us who were forced to wait so long for contact from an Ambassador.

So I had the first opportunity today to deal with a different (backup) Ambassador since my assigned Ambassador is off on weekends. The Ambassador who helped me this morning was so nice and friendly and made calls to the hotel I was considering to arrange a paid upgrade to a specialty suite on an award stay. The hotel had told me when I called that it would only be available through an Ambassador request.
Honestly, if I had realized how valuable an Ambassador was I would have achieved it several years ago. I had 3 years in a row that ended with over 85 nights.
There has been so much naysaying about Ambassador Status, but I have been very pleased with this benefit so far.
