Have you tried Andaz Ottawa? Not that Westin Ottawa is a bad hotel (far from it), but in my humble opinion before being considered among the best Westin in the world, it would first have to compete better in its hotel category within its city. Andaz Ottawa is better in almost every way: odds of suite upgrades, breakfast, quality of the room, elevators that work like normal elevators, hotel bar, price, etc.

Not to say that Sheraton Ottawa > Westin Ottawa, but I would dare to say (as shocking as it might sound) that one could have arguments for why the Westin is not even the best value proposition within Starwood in Ottawa, but that it's rather the aging Sheraton that is, instead.

Just stayed 6 nights at the new Westin Perth, amazing sunrise views from floor to ceiling windows, reasonably priced bar, very nice pool, perfect location in downtown Perth. Easily the best Westin I've ever stayed at by a long shot.

Sure your not thinking of the Sheraton? I found the lounge very average by comparison to the Sheraton both in offerings and view, and rooms were smaller as well.

The Westin Copley Place in Boston. I love the location both for walking around Boston and proximity to the T and the Back Bay Amtrak station and their recent room renovations are quite impressive. Service here is really good too.

I haven't stayed at a lot of Westins, and I am sure there are many superior ones, but I was really impressed by the Westin Pasadena LA. The rooms & service were on point as usual, but what did it for me and what I really liked the pool & gym area: nice cabana type set up with beautiful view of there beautiful city hall which looks like a church building from Italy or something classical like that.

But, again I'm sure I'll find much better ones as time moves forward as overall I'm very impressed with the westin brand so plan stay lot more as seems to be most consistent. And, IMHO right level: nice enough to be in that luxury conversation but not soo much that all pretentious stuffy like some other brands feel...

Westin Langkawi would be my pick, massive property with a good variety of room choices, probably the best locale in Langkawi with Kuah an easy walk. Excellent food, five pools, only downside is it’s price, used to be cheap!

Just booked up to go here in 2019. Any ideas on what platinum benefits to expect? Does it have a lounge etc.?

I loved the Westin in Cape Town, South Africa. The views were to die for and the rooms are completely updated and modern. Additionally, the service was impeccable. I've actually never had better service anywhere and that's saying a lot because I'm a frequent flier and traveler but the manager Jason went above and beyond for my husband and I. The floor to ceiling glass windows in the room facing the ocean were amazing and awesome to wake up to! It was an extremely great stay hands down.
