Can't find the new properties thread again so started a separate thread for this new Maldvies Resort.
I'm guessing it will be a Cat 6 or 7.

According to the links below, this 45-million-dollar resort will have 70 villas. Construction has allegedly started and the opening is mentioned as 2018 instead of the February 2019 date listed on Starwood's website... but with the Maldivian penchant for delays, we shall see what happens out there.

If it involves villa's, I'm guessing that it will be double the usual reward rate for rooms like in Bora Bora; keeping in mind that the SPG program will probably be radically different if it exists at all by the time this property opens.

Cash rates now available to book from 1-Dec onwards. No points rates loaded though. This happened a few days ago.
Room details are more apparent but photos still missing. Puts 1st October opening date sceptical in my mind.
Does anyone know if it's likely that there will be discounted points redemptions in the first few months after opening, until reputation and occupancy increases?

It looks like award rates are now available. I searched for 7 nights in May 2019 and saw availability for an Island Villa for 60,000 points per night. Thinking of switching a reservation from W Maldives to here if they allow overwater villas at 85,000 per night.
