As of February 2019 this hotel no longer offers club lounge access to Marriott Platinum and higher guests, even if upgraded to a room category which would otherwise offer lounge access, so lounge access mentioned in older reviews would no longer apply.

The hotel also no longer participates in Suite Night Awards.

Breakfast offering for Platinum and higher is in restaurant, buffet plus made to order eggs.

Since Prince is itself a chain, I'm surprised that this one is affiliating with Starwood too. I know several of the Price properties in Tokyo and I wouldn't think of them as LC hotels.

From Wiki and the OP's link, this is a new build. And it does sound very luxe. Whatever the final result, it's good to have new options in Tokyo, though I wish there were cheaper ones.

Yes it is a new build.

You can see demolition of the previous hotel here (external link - FT-like site for skyscraper nerds - no offence) :

Page 1 starts with demolition pics. Pretty interesting way to take it down!

This is definitely good news for Tokyo. Glad it's a new build. Japan Starwood hotels are very dated (excluding St. Regis Osaka).

Too bad it's not a unique structure, pretty standard straight up thingy. But I rather have a nice looking interior hehe.

I'm guessing it's either going to be managed by Prince Hotels group or maybe delay of opening till summer of 2016. I'm hoping it's the later but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Prince Hotel has just announced the opening day is July 27 and the booking starts on Feb 1.

The room rates range from 60,000 yen to 590,000 yen. I guess tax is not included here.

This is a new build, not Grand Prince Asakusa.

I'm guessing at least Cat 6. But it would be good to finally have a decent option in Tokyo - SPG must be the most under-represented major chain there.
