Just went for over 325k Starpoints, the auction just closed..

Couldnt Agree More!!!

I was just in Monaco a couple weeks ago for a few days and it just did NOT appeal to me, guess maybe being there during the race would be different..

Well, then it's a good thing you didn't buy the package.

This was a high value package and although I'm surprised it would have gone for that amount, kudos to whoever is going to experience it. IME, with 5 moments in the last couple years, all have been great experiences with no detail overlooked and many times my expectations exceeded, which isn't easy to do. ^ to spg crew who execute these moments.

I seem to recall the Super Bowl packages were up over 400K, maybe 500K (I feel lucky to have jumped on the fixed 200K offering, pre-auction).

That is a lot of points, but if you want to go to the Monaco GP in style, that may be the cheapest way. Grand Prix Tours is over $3K/person, and that's staying in Nice, just 3 nights. F1 fans tend to do pretty well demographically.

Pretty well?

They are playing Baccarat by night and driving their own luxury cars by day shopping. The suites at horse races and F1 are certainly a different socioeconomic status.

I was speaking of F1 fans generically. I've been to a dozen races and can assure you I'm not playing baccarat and my car with 112K miles is hardly upper crust. I would agree that Monaco specifically is a whole 'nother ballgame. That's why this package may seem pricey for Austin, Spa, Montreal, etc, but is quite reasonable for Monaco.

Notice I said SUITES at F1 and horse races. Maybe it doesn't apply to you, it doesn't to me.

They're having a very hard time selling these tickets. $250 (plus fees) for any decent seat. To compare, Springsteen is about $250 (including fees) for TWO seats.

For 5000 points I might just jump on this.

Went to buy these last night, it doesn't tell you where the tickets are.

I value my points at about $.03, so for $150 (which I know is a good deal compared to cash prices for these tix, but I'm not *that* married to the idea of going to the concert), I'd like to know where I'm going to be sitting, as Fenway is less than the ideal place for a concert.

It does say "Premium" seats in the description -- anyone have an idea what that really means in terms of location?
