JW Marriott Bucarest

Hello,

I am planning to stay in this hotel in 2 weeks.
Has someone stayed there recently? do they upgrade gold MR to the executive level? is the Executive Lounge opened on weekends?

On my last 2 stays in Bucarest I have been at the Hilton, how do they compare?

Thanks very much,

In my experience (I've stayed a number of times at each), the Marriott is far superior to the Hilton!

I'm Plat, and have been for a couple years, so don't have any recent experience on whether Golds get upgraded any more. They used to (back circa 2005).

Thanks very much for the info Counsellor.

In all my stays as a Gold member, I have been upgraded, so I hope it will happen again ;)

I stayed at this hotel about a year or two ago (when the dirt cheap BUC fare was available).

It's probably one of the nicest buildings in the entire country - when we were there, Willem Dafoe & Keifer Sutherland were there (I think they were seperatly filming movies).

There's a casino in the basement - I won enough to pay for my entire stay & then some! It's a great hotel - there were some ladies of the night working the area, so careful! ;)
