properties similar to JW Phuket
 

I was wondering if any one could suggest Marriott properties in Latin America or the Caribbean that are comparable to the JW Phuket Thailand. I stayed there last year and loved it... Now I'm looking for something comparable closer to home.

Well, IMHO, there is nothing like it. I mean, there are hotels that also happen to have MVCI units there, but as to the natural beauty of Thailand, extent of restaurant offerings, etc. there is nothing quite like it.

The Aruba marriott is nice, but not as tropical (dry weather there). The Ilhani on Ohau is very nice, but everything is so much more expensive. The Aruba location does have MCVI units there, if that's what your'e interested in.

Again, I guess it depends on what you're looking for...

I have heard the JW in Guanacaste, Costa Rica is similar. However, I don't think you will find any pools like Phuket at any other property. They are fantastic.

thanks, I'm trying to find a Marriott resort to spend some points at and veg out on a beach. I really liked the property in Phuket and I'm looking for something as well done. I'm not looking for a vacation club, but wouldn't be opposed either. The Costa Rica property looks to be very nice.

The JW was offered at $95/night for a garden view room good through end-August on today's Marriott Deal Of the Day. Hope you got it!
