Hotels with a good view

Hi!

I'm looking for a list, or maybe suggestion as to what hotels do have a good view. From my experience, there's Marriott Niagara where when you look out of your windows (provided you get a fallsview room), you get to see the horshoe falls just right outside. Are there other similar hotels like this?

Thanks! :)

Marriott Niagara, room with Falls view! Oh yes, OP's thread reminds me of our visit there. The view was awesome, particularly at night and during sunrise. Misty the whole time. The view is simply fantastic.
Off hand, I can think of Frankfurt Marriott (high floor, of course). It has a metropolitan kind of view; Nagoya Marriott Associa, which has (depends on your room location) castle view, view of train tracks where bullet trains glide in and out of station; JW Hong Kong used to have great ocean view before the newly built high-rises made that history.

If you're ever in San Diego, my favorite is the Downtown Marriott Hotel and Marina. Great views of the Bay and Coronado, especially from the concierge lounge.

And one of their TV channels is camera view of the airport!

For planespotting: the Renaissance Concourse Atlanta, because it is built on the site of the old Hartsfield terminal building, has excellent runway views (from the appropriate side of the building).

Can there be any hotel (any brand, any location) in the world that has more spectacular views from the rooms than the Marriott London County Hall? (Assuming a room on the river side of the property.)

Field View Room at the Renaissance Toronto Downtown (in the Rogers Centre/SkyDome)...

The Marriott at IAH also has a great view -- especially from the revolving bar. The property is on the airport property so an easy monorail ride to the entrance.

Depends a whole lot on your personal preferences; what do you want to see looking out a hotel room window? I've overlooked the runway staying at the PHL Marriott and marveled at how almost no sound came into the room. Despite a love of aviation that includes driving hours to catch airshows and to watch the Concorde from a parking garage rooftop (IIRC) at JFK, I wouldn't put it, or any of the above-mentioned airport properties, on my "good view" list.

My wife and I had a spectacular view of snow-covered mountains and their ski trails from a room at the Breckenridge MVC this time last year. (My wife especially enjoyed the combination of the view and soaking in the outdoor hot tub.) This year we're hoping to see something comparable from either the Boulder or Colorado Springs Marriotts (though we expect the snows on the mountains visible from those locations to be greatly diminished this late in the season).

I enjoyed watching two Padres games from my room this weekend at the San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter. In fact, they open their rooftop nightclub early on game days because the view into the park is almost as good as the cheap seats in the park itself!

If you're an airplane geek, the PHL Airport Marriott overlooks the entire PHL runway setup and gates (from the correct side, although they have windows at every elevator you can look out.) The Ren also isn't bad for watching takeoffs if you have the right view, but it's more hit/miss.

IIRC, but it's been a few years, the Ren Baltimore Inner Harbor has some good views, as does the JW in Washington DC.

Hard to beat the Fallsview thought!^

Ocean view from Waliea resort Maui is stunning - particularly the sunset.

I agree the view from County Hall is pretty good too - doesn't quite do it for me as much anymore though as I used to walk along there on the way home from work :)

I just returned from the Marriott in Budpest. It's right on the Danube with spectacular views up and down the river both from the Executive Lounge on the 9th floor and from the rooms themselves. At night it was beautiful.

The Shanghai JW Marriott has an awesome view of Shanghai from their "secret" lookout in the library at the top of the hotel. It is accessed through the CL. I think it is the highest view or close to it in all of Shanghai (other than from an aircraft.)
