Question About eBreaks

I'm new to the Marriott scene, and have a question about the eBreak email I've started receiving. When I check on some likely possibilities, I've noticed that some of the hotels/rates have an "*" next to them, while most do not; at the bottom of the email are a listing of Terms and Conditions preceded by an "*" as well, and one of them is that the rate and night qualifies for points, etc.

Does this mean that only those hotels/rates that have the "*" by them will show up in my account, while the others will not? If that's not it, why the "*" by some of the listings and not all of them?

Thanks for any answers.

All eBreaks count towards awards and status with Marriott. The rates with a * are at the properties where the eBreak rate is valid only from Friday-Sunday night. The rest of the properties have a valid eBreak rate from Thursday-Sunday, where Thursday and Sunday are shoulder nights (count as weekend nights if you stay either on Friday or Saturday, respectively).

Thanks for clarifying.

Another question:

I usually get the Marriott Ebreak MEB email every Monday about mid-morning.
I was wondering at what point does that code become active.
Would it work on Sunday night? earlier?

I have no idea when they load the room inventory in for the upcoming weekend. I don't really see a need to book the room ahead of Monday for the upcoming weekend. They won't have this rate if they expect to sell out the hotel for the weekend.

On a different note, I actually clicked on the eBreaks email today (first time in a while) and noticed that there are more international locations this week than listed in the email. There are 3 countries with 5 properties listed in the email, but the eBreaks website actually has links for properties in 11 countries this week. Of course, I doubt if too many people will be staying at the three properties listed in Egypt.

I haven't checked if Sharm El-Sheikh's Marriott, Ren and Ritz are listed on the eBreaks site, but I hear that the resort is full of Brits, Russians and, especially, Cairenes. I would have gone myself, had I been able to afford the airfare - Turkish Airlines have increased their rate three- or four-fold this summer, while Aeroflot has its regular lull in service. Tours to Sharm are twice more expensive than they were before the Tahrir Revolution.
