Bunch of Questions
 

Hi - I hope you can help. I have searched for a few of these answers but hope someone can give me a quick confirmation. I am spending a week on an Award in the JW Merigot in Santa Monica in October - myself , Partner and 2 children 12&9.

I am Gold so here goes....

1 Does everyone in my party qualify for free breakfast in the lounge and for evening access ?

2 I see where the Merigot offers coupons for weekend breakfasts - again is that only for me or for every one of us ?

3 Does the Merigot allow you to upgrade from the Healthy start to the full buffet - again for everyone or only for me ? If so how much is the difference ?

The answers to these questions could save me a lot of dollars over the week !



Also as there are four of us - what are the odds of a decent upgrade from a double double bed room?

Lets see if we can't help with a few answers:

1. I do believe that everyone in your room should have CL access. If your party spans multiple rooms, I don't think the hotel has to provide persons in the other room CL access, but in my experience most hotels will still do so. I used points recently for two rooms at the NYC Marquis. We were traveling with some friends. The hotel without even my asking gave keys from both rooms CL access. ^

2. Since that is a hotel specific offering, I can't answer this one. The hotel doesn't have to provide you with weekend breakfast, much less anyone else in your party. With that said, my experience is that hotels that provide weekend breakfast for elites also tend to provide it for other members of your party.

3. Again, never stayed there, so I can't answer. You might try looking at the CL Weekend B'fast stickie thread in this forum to see if the hotel is listed. If so, it may answer both this question and question #2.

4. An upgrade? I don't know that hotel, but given there are four of you, that may limit some of their upgrades since in a lot of hotels, a king bedroom can only hold 3 persons. So you may be stuck with a 2 double room. They may have some better view rooms that they could upgrade you to. But to upgrade you may require a suite upgrade and if they don't have very many of those, you may be out of luck there.

I haven't been to this property, but there is no lounge at this hotel. The coupons are valued at $15/person (FT thread on concierge lounge and weekend breakfast). I am not sure if you can get 4 of them each day for your party.
