Visa cert?
I tried to make a cert reservation and the link did not show.
A few weeks ago it was on the website when I made a reservation. I wonder why it disappeared? |

I wonder why it disappeared? #1 Even if you are sure that you selected any option {other than} the cert when you made past reservations, go in and doublecheck each future res. Mistakes do happen. #2 Doublecheck your dates. The cert is only good for 6 months from the date of issue. The exact day. I almost lost mine last year because my stay started one day later.....and they wouldn't extend it. #3 Does the cert still show, but just not the link to use it? Call. Or has the cert disappeared altogether? Definitely call! Those are the only 3 reasons I can think of (as to why) it might have disappeared? |
Be Very Careful.
The website will allow you to book a night with the certificate past the expiration date.. and then it will pull the certificate at the last minute. This happened to me. They said that the cert expired 8/4 and my stay is for 8/6. The Marriott computer knows enough to pull the cert on the expiration but not enough not to book the stay using that certificate. I ended up converted it to a paid stay because it would have been a terrible use of points given the going rate...but I'm ending up more than the market bares to stay at which is a mediocre hotel. Of course, the rules and minutiae with these certificate make them 'buyer beware' Too bad the computer/website allows one to make a reservation using a certificate for a date that it surely knows it won't be valid. The website says when the certificate was deposited....more valuable information would be for it to say when it expires! I'm just not sure this Visa is worth the hassle... :( The SPG AMEX is such a better deal when it comes to earning. |
Booking with Anniversary Certificate
Am I missing something?
My Visa card just renewed on 8/15 and the following shows up in my MR activity: 08/15/2008 PREMIER VISA ANNIV 1-5 HOTELS 0 points However, when I try to make a reservation and click on use Marriot Reward Points, it says I don't have enough points (which is correct), but does not recognize the anniversary certificate. Since it was just posted on 8/15 (two days ago), do you think I'm just jumping the gun? Is there a # for this certificate? OTH, kudos for Chase for posting it so quickly. I've read other threads where people had to follow with Chase to get the anniversary certificate. |
I cannot book this certificate online now
PREMIER VISA ANNIV 1-5 HOTELS I have been trying to book this online for 20 minutes now, but I have given up. It does not work now. Are others experiencing the same?
