Two hotels at once
I am a pilot in the Military, and when on orders, I live in a FS Marriott. During those stays I frequently go on weekend trips where I do not check out of my main hotel, and check into another Marriott. Usually I have no problems with this, but I just noticed on my rewards activity that some of my stays had reduced to zero points. Why would they do this when I am still paying for both rooms? Shouldn't I get points for both???

I'm a government traveler who is frequently in two properties at once. I've never had a problem with points posting, so I'd suggest it's likely just an error. Call the folks at MR - hopefully they can figure out what the problem is.

Yes, you should be getting your points for both rooms (assuming the rates are point earning rates of course.) Marriott T&Cs state that you should be able to receive points for up to 3 rooms per night. With that said, you might not always get night credit for both rooms. The T&Cs state that you should only get night credit for one room per night, but quite often Marriott's system will give night credits for both rooms when they are at different hotels (though recent posts in this forum seem to be showing that Marriott is starting to catch those mistakes more than they used to.)
Give Marriott Rewards a call. Their system should be able to find your stays and make sure you get the points you should have received. |
