Dumb breakfast question

I'm at a Marriott, checked in Thursday, leave tomorrow (Sunday).

Concierge is closed today, closed for breakfast tomorrow (but opens at 5:30pm).

Is this Gold member entitled to a breakfast certificate, or is that something I have to get lucky through asking?

Most do breakfast certs, but not all. Ask, but if they didn't already throw them at you its a bad sign.

Entitled?

No. T's and C's don't obligate them to do so on weekend days for Golds (or Plats for that matter).

However, nothing precludes a property from voluntarily comping breakfast on weekends so it's possible that the FD associate merely forgot to give you coupons upon check-in.

Worth inquiring but don't count on it.

My recollection is that you are not entitled to breakfast on the weekends but would be if the lounge was closed during the week.

No harm in asking though.

If you had posted the name of the property, somebody here would probably be able to tell you whether its likely you could get coupons, or not.

You can also check the "Conceirge Lounge" Sticky thread in this forum. Your hotel may be listed there and if so, may state whether others were able to get coupons on the weekends or not.

But as already stated, B'fast on weekends is not a guaranteed elite level benefit at Marriotts (much as I wish it were otherwise.)

and if you are staying with someone else, you need to clarify that the "complimentary breakfast" is for 2 people, not 1. I just went through a whole big thing about that in St Augustine at the Renaissance Golf World

Marriott should change that policy. I am a Platinum I expect my benefits that includes on weekends. Breakfast vouchers should be guaranteed anytime the lounge is closed.
