Marriott.bomb https://www.marriott.com/j_security_check

Their web site sucks. They need to fire the folks that did their redesign. When I try to log in I get a http 500 internal server error for the following url:

https://www.marriott.com/j_security_check

Then I get a password page and when I enter my pw it comes back and tells me my MR # or email address is invalid. IDIOTS!

MARRIOT.BOMB is down according to Internet Customer Care.

This upgrade is trash. Did anyone figure out what the graph for total nights goes to? I am hoping once I get all the way to the end of it Marriott will comp me a cookie.

This is the second thread I've seen mention the graph. Where is it? I'm signed in but can't find it. Thanks.

I got this error more times than I care to remember with the old website as well...

imverge Nov 12, 2007 8:53 am

I was getting the same message last week but only for a few hours. No problems since then and I just checked and all is well. Let's see how long it lasts.

From the Home screen click the pretty red link that says My Marriott Rewards Account and you will see what we are talking about. Platinum is about 75% of the way completed according to the graph.

What magical benefits show up when the graph is full? Only time will tell but I second the cookie comment.

Actually, I think that you get to sit in Mr. Marriott's lap. If you tell him you're a Redskins fan, you might get a cap.

When I look at the "My Marriott Rewards Account" page, I don't see any graphs. Now right under where it says "Nights this year" there is some text stating the number of nights I have stayed this year and then right under that text is an empty square area with nothing in it. Then under that area is the "New Features" box. Are you seeing the graph in that empty square area or somewhere else?

Its a simple horizontal bar graph on the left side of the screen just to the right of the main menu bar on the far left side. For me the screen shows Name, Balance, Elite Membership level, Nights this year, and immediately under that there is a blue (or whatever Marriott calls that color) bar with gradiations of Silver (10 nights), Gold (50 nights), Platinum (75 Nights) and for me the bar goes well beyond Platinum..... Hence the question.

Thanks for the directions, but I've got no graph. Tried both Firefox and IE.

Maybe because I'm double platinum...there's really nothing left for me to strive for?

Use the print scrn key (might require an alt or cntl) and you can copy to a file and edit the picture.

I found an image hosting site. see my post right above yours for the link to the screenshot.

From your screenshot (and everyone's descriptions) it couldn't be more clear. And I don't have one. Oh well.

Their developers are somewhat competent: the site doesn't tell you that you need -35 nights to maintain Platinum Status! :D:D:D:D

timetosave Nov 15, 2007 7:26 am

I e-mailed Marriott about this one and got the following reply:

--
Thank you for contacting Marriott Rewards.

The highest status in the Marriott Rewards program is the Platinum Elite level. The bar that you see online should end at 75 nights as there is nothing to achieve beyond the Platinum status; what you are seeing online past 75 nights is the plus part of the 75 + to achieve Platinum Elite. Other than the points and Elite nights that you earn for your stays after 75 nights during the year there is no additional level earned.

Thank you for choosing Marriott.

Well, sure, ~anybody~ could write an email to the company to get an answer. What's the fun in that? ;)

But part of the answer just doesn't make sense to me..." what you are seeing online past 75 nights is the plus part of the 75 + to achieve Platinum Elite. " What does that mean?

(seriously, though, thanks for the follow up...and welcome to FT)
