Any Promo codes for joining?
Hi, I'm joining Marriott's program and I was wondering if anyone had a Promo code for the signup?
My company (GE) generally uses Hilton and I have a silver status over there, but it seems I have been staying in some Marriott's recently, so I might as well jump on board. I didn't see anything on the our internal travel website for a promo code, so I can just leave it blank, or is there any code that might put a few miles in the account to get me started? I already booked a hotel stay, check in tomorrow. Thanks. |
If you are converting in earnest, pick up the Marriott Visa. It automatically credits 15 nights to your account, which translates into instant Silver and a nice jumpstart on Gold (you'll need 35 more actual room-nights).
Cost is $65 per year, but that includes a free night certificate (good for Cat 4 the first year, Cat 5 after that). And there's usually some sign-up bonus points too. Finally, the card earns 5 pts/$ on Marriott charges, so you'll want to use the card on your hotel stays even if you don't use it anywhere else. The Marriott Visa is a substantial upgrade over the credit card they had in place two years ago - it's well worth it for anyone who can even use 1 free night each year, and it gets even better for someone in that 35-40 or 60-65 night range who would otherwise fall short of the next elite level. |
No plans to convert points, I'm just going to have to build both accounts.
The card sounds interesting, so I'll compare it to my current card. I'm happy with my current independant visa because it's redeemable on many programs. From what I read in previous posts, no one has found any values for this four letter field. Thanks paulaner AT email DOT com |

If I completely stopped doing revenue stays tomorrow, I'd basically by buying 1 Category 5 night for $65 every year. I'll take that every time. We're using that cert later this summer for a Saturday night stay at the Mystic Marriott. Without the cert, we probably would've spent $150-200 on a hotel night in the area (although we wouldn't have paid the $300+ this particular Marriott would have charged). |
Not a sign up bonus, but enrollment in the dreamrewards tracker generated a 1,000 sign up bonus and an offer for 5,000 more bonus points with two stays in a three month period for both me and my hubby. It wasn't immediate - they sent the e-mail/postcard after a couple of weeks.
