Marriott in Tahiti?
 

Is there a Marriott in Tahiti? I've tried searching and came up with nothing. If I search by country it's not listed and French Polynesia isn't on the list.

Also, any recommendations you may have for the South Pacific region are welcome!

There are none I am afraid... Starwood's have multiple properties there if that helps at all...

There is a new JW to open in June 2008 in Fiji -JW Marriott Fiji Resort & Spa at Momi Bay

I thought I saw a promo where MArriott had a "partnership" with the oriental in Tahiti... though its been a long time

That is still the case, it's under partner rewards, but it's very expensive. Also, look at the thread from the last few days called glass floors or something similar, lots of info.

We would have loved to stay at a Marriott on our recent trip Tahiti, but unfortunately there weren't. We stayed at the Intercontinental in Tahiti and LOVED it. With Intercontinental you can buy status (Ambassador) and it gives you a coupon for a free weekend night (BOGO) as well as free upgrade, and late checkout, which all come in very handy for the very expensive (and very odd flight schedules) Tahiti!
